The Great Dunes of Erg Chegaga, located about 95 km from the Off-Road tracks of Tagounite, penultimate town in the south of the Maghreb, where the asphalt ends and the authentic Sahara desert begins.

discovering Erg Lihoudi, first Saharan dunes and the Great Dunes of Erg Chegaga … arriving in Erg Lihoudi, after two hours of riding in a dromedary like a true nomad and Erg Chegaga in a 4×4, climbing the dunes and crossing hammadas or desert stones, and where it is possible to find a fossil.

Program (5 Days)

• Day 1
  1

  Marrakech - Zagora

  Early departure address the high atlas, port T'ichka cross 2260 meters. Discover the ancient kasbahs of Ait Ben Haddou, where they filmed the piliculas as Obelix, Gladiator, Babel, .... Lunch at the heart of the Kasbah Tamnougalt, then follow the path south on anti atlas mountains, cross the magnificent valley of the Draa. Arrived in Zagora, dinner and overnight in a charming hotel.

  Zagora - M'Hamid

  After breakfast, departure in 4×4 to M'Hamid, Tamgroute pause to visit the Kasbah underground, the Coranic library and the art of the oldest pottery in the south.Then follow the path until M'hamid, here begins the track towards Chagaga dunes, afterwards, afternoon departure for 1h camel to reach the bivouac of Erg Lihoudi, dinner and overnight in traditional tents.

  M’Hamid - Erg Chegaga

  Back in the morning camel to M'Hamid, visit the village and its Kasbah, lunch in a lovely restaurant in the heart of the palm. In the afternoon, departure in 4 × 4 to discover the Chegaga dunes, the desert sea (300 m altitude) 60 km trail, arriving to see the sunset and then dinner and overnight in tents nomad.

  Erg Chegaga - Foum Zguid - Ouarzazate

  After breakfast, morning departure in 4× 4 from Chagaga to Foum Zguid crossing 90 km more in the desert and enjoying the different landscapes (Lake Iriqui, mountains, fossils), lunch at Foum Zguid first village after the desert. Arrived late afternoon in Ouarzazate, dinner and overnight in a typical hotel.

• Day 5

  Ouarzazate - Ait Benhaddou - Marrakech

  Morning departure after breakfast to visit the Kasbah Tifoultoute (located 15 km from Ouarzazate) and movies studios. Then, continuing to the Kasbah of Ait Benhaddou through the track where you can see different landscapes (desert rocks, desert plates that were used for filming westerns). Lunch on the road and return to Marrakesh in the afternoon.
